The Band

On a warm summer evening in 2005, six musicians came together at a cottage on the Big Rideau Lake to play at a 50th birthday party for a local doctor. Even though this was the first time they had played togehter as a group, the night was a huge success with the guys playing music that everyone knows, loves, and is great to dance to .

At the end of the night, the guys talked about how much fun it was and the idea arose that they should do it again soon. They did, and The Doherty Brothers Band was born.

Since that night The Doherty Brothers Band has had the opportunity to play at a variety of celebrations and venues all over Lanark County and the Ottawa Valley. From Canada Day celebrations, antique car shows, birthday and retirement parties, bars and pubs, local annual festivals, and everything else in-between, The Doherty Brothers Band is sure not to disappoint!

The 6 original members are still together with John Doherty on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, Ray Doherty  on keyboards and vocals, Terry Donohue on lead guitrar and vocals, John McElroy on bass and vocals, Brian Timmins on drums, and Scott Cameron  on the harp, tambourine and congas.
